In today's digital age, the restaurant industry is becoming increasingly competitive. Every brand seeks to maximize the information customers receive in the shortest time possible, leaving a lasting impression. With nearly 400 stores across 59 cities in China and over 4,000 digital screens deployed, Xibei faced the urgent challenge of centrally managing screen content to meet increasingly complex scheduling demands.
To address this need, Whale's first recommendation was a smart upgrade of Xibei's hardware. However, uniformly replacing or installing new smart screens nationwide involved high costs. Instead, Whale integrated its 'Whale Hub Feather' edge computing units with Xibei's existing screens—reducing digital upgrade costs by at least half.
Following the upgrade, a single operator can now remotely control all screens and their content across the country, eliminating the need for manual adjustments by store staff. This approach has improved operational efficiency by more than tenfold. Additionally, different screens within the same store can now display varied content simultaneously, enabling multi-dimensional customer communication.
Using Whale Harbor, Xibei can set primary and interstitial content lines for special broadcasts. The system also supports custom interactive pages and offers diverse content formats—including images, videos, external links, H5, and scrolling comments—maximizing the business value of each screen through versatile use.
Through its DMS, Whale enables real-time monitoring and management of all screens. This not only enhances management efficiency but also ensures continuous oversight. When equipment abnormalities occur, issues that previously took up to seven days to resolve can now be addressed within 24 hours.
In the digital era, Xibei envisions each screen—displaying the right content in the right place—becoming a truly "living signboard" for the restaurant.
